Peer supports are regular Zoom sessions for SIAA members. The main goal of peer supports is to provide space for exchange of ideas and experiences among peers. The idea is that, despite differences in independent advocacy practice throughout Scotland, independent advocacy workers do face similar challenges and benefit from mutual support, encouragement, and assistance that these sessions can provide. It’s also a way for SIAA to support and encourage reflective practice, and keep in touch with what is happening in the sector, while enabling pooling of resources and expertise in a safe, confidential space.
